In a watered down NFC North in a very weak NFC field this year both the 5-3 Bears and the 3-5 Vikings have a shot at capturing the division title and booking a spot in the NFL playoff sports betting action.

The Bears are tied for the second best record in the entire conference but are completely underwhelming. The Vikings can thank the 1-8 Cowboys for preventing them from being the single most disappointing team of the NFL season so far.

What is this 2010 NFL season coming to when a 2-5 team has a great shot of defeating one of the preseason Super Bowl favorites: the 5-2 New York Jets.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and SBG Global Sportsbook opened with the Jets as a 3.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 44.5.

It may seem strange but that’s exactly the type of season it’s been so far in the NFL. Parity is at an all time high with no undefeated teams surviving the first month of the season and no clear cut favorite among the ranks. Now that Big Ben has returned from his 4-game suspension we’ve seen what kind of potential the Steelers’ passing game has and it’s not a rosy picture for Pittsburgh (4-1) opponents’ on the NFL gambling calendar.

In his absence, the Steelers started 4th string QB Charlie Batch and cobbled together a 3-1 record almost in spite of Batch. The team ranked last in the NFL passing offense and struggled to put 20 points on the scoreboard. But it mattered little as the defense is playing like a bunch of lunatics and has only given up 12.0 ppg this season.

And now that Big Ben is back the whole complexion of the offense has changed and this team is now a much more dangerous opponent. Read more…
