Sports Betting – How the Colts Lost the Super Bowl
The first 15 minutes of the recent Super Bowl went according to script. The Indy Colts came charging out of the locker room and proceeded to dominate every are of the Super Bowl stats against the New Orleans Saints. And for the most part the Colts dominated the second quarter of the sports betting competition as well.
But the Super Bowl is four quarters of fun and the Saints simply refused to give up. They took advantage of a heap of Colts’ errors and claimed the first Super Bowl stats title in franchise history. Even though the 4th quarter INT returned for a TD stands out as the deal breaker in this sports betting matchup it was actually a series of Colts mistakes and the Saints capitalizing on all of them that propelled New Orleans to the Super Bowl stats win.
The curious and ballzy onside kick to start the second half is perhaps the best example of the Saints willingness to take risk and capitalizing and the Colts failure to execute. Peter King of NBC and SI recounted how the Saints had seen the Colts front line players on the Colts kick return cheating and dropping back to block before the ball had been kicked. And you can see as the ball bounced off of Hank Baskett’s shoulder pads that he was certainly taken by surprise.
But there were plenty of other errors. Reggie Wayne played an awful game and dropped passes in the end zone and at midfield that could have been game changers. And according to many sports betting analysts his poor route running was more to blame for the 4th quarter pick than Manning’s placement. And then there was the ultra-conservative play calling once they took the lead in sports betting’s biggest game. In a game that Indy could have and should have won, they didn’t. And now they have to stew on second place for 12 months.
