He can play in either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense and for any team looking for a middle linebacker in the upcoming NFL draft McClain is as good as you’ll find in this year’s talent-rich pool of potential NFL wagering talent.
McClain biggest potential weakness in the NFL betting competition is his pass coverage. As with most college football linebackers he hasn’t been tested all that much in coverage and his footwork needs to improve if he’s going to make an impact at the NFL betting level. However, his great speed allows him to cover plenty of ground and makes him asset in zone coverage.
He also has terrific knack of timing his blitz off the snap and could be every effective in blitzing when he reaches the NFL betting action. His fundamentals are sharp and he’s a sure tackler, something that is becoming rarer at the college football betting level.
The D-lineman have dominated the NFL draft discussion on that side of the ball with names like Suh and McCoy generating the most buzz among NFL gambling experts. But at the end of the day it might just be McClain who has the biggest impact at the NFL betting level.
