After struggling to a 1-3 start to the 2010 NFL betting odds season the Minnesota Vikings will finally be back at .500 in the standings after their matchup with the 3-3 Green Bay Packers this weekend.
The media circus surrounding this meeting of traditional NFC North rivals could hardly get any bigger. As if Packers legend Brett Favre returning to play at Lambeau Field wasn’t enough, he’s bringing along an alleged “sexting” scandal with him, just in case the media quotient wasn’t quite high enough for this already over-hyped game. Nothing like nude photos of grandfather to stir up headlines! But back to the grid-iron. Read more…
The Oakland Raiders are as bad as ever with little or no chance of playing in the NFL playoffs or appearing on the right side of sports betting line any time soon. This team has no reliable option or talent at the QB position, the owner is a lunatic and the coaching staff is questionable. But that doesn’t mean that this team isn’t a tough opponent or that it can’t pull off the occasional upset.
Sports betting fans might fall asleep on this team because of its consistently poor performances but opponents and especially opposing QBs know not to overlook this team. The Raiders fall short in many areas, but this team takes a backseat to none when it comes to cover CBs. Even though the Jets Darelle Revis gets all the headlines, the best CB in league is the little known Nnamdi Asomugha. His name doesn’t necessarily roll off the tongue, but it doesn’t need to as long as he shuts down the opponent’s number one WR and that’s what this guy does every week. His stats are meager, but that’s only because no one ever even thinks about throwing his way. Read more…
Now that Big Ben has returned from his 4-game suspension we’ve seen what kind of potential the Steelers’ passing game has and it’s not a rosy picture for Pittsburgh (4-1) opponents’ on the NFL gambling calendar.
In his absence, the Steelers started 4th string QB Charlie Batch and cobbled together a 3-1 record almost in spite of Batch. The team ranked last in the NFL passing offense and struggled to put 20 points on the scoreboard. But it mattered little as the defense is playing like a bunch of lunatics and has only given up 12.0 ppg this season.
And now that Big Ben is back the whole complexion of the offense has changed and this team is now a much more dangerous opponent. Read more…
This game between the 3-2 Redskins and the 3-2 Colts is one of the more interesting matchups this week and has one of the tightest lines in the Week 6 NFL betting odds action. Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 8:35 Eastern Time and sbg opened with the Colts as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 44.
As with any game featuring the Colts the focus point for both teams will be Peyton Manning. It’s difficult to appreciate what he does on a weekly basis because he’s so consistent there hasn’t been a player that’s dominated so thoroughly for so long since perhaps Joe Montana. The only difference is that Joe Montana played in the pre-free agent era and was surrounded with hall of fame talent in San Fran throughout his career. Read more…
