The NFL Network’s recent Top 100 Players of All-Time program listed Peyton Manning as the second best QB in the history of the NFL betting odds competition. Only 4-time Super Bowl champion Joe Montana was listed higher at the position. But anyone that’s seen Manning in action this season could make a good argument for bumping him past Montana on the all time list.

Whereas Montana had Rice, Clark and Taylor to throw the ball to and Roger Craig and Tom Rathman to hand the ball off to, Manning is working with practice squad players named Tamme, White and James.

And he’s putting up ridiculous passing stats (309.8 yards passing per game, 16 TDs, 4 INTs) and has led the Colts to an impressive 5-3 record.

His Colts will host the super-underachieving Cincinnati Bengals (2-6) in the Week 10 sports betting action and when the final whistle blows Indy should be 6-3 heading into Week 11.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and SBG Global Sportsbook opened with the Colts as a 7-point favorite with an over/under total at 47.

The Bengals have no excuse for their awful play this season and not much hope of winning in Indy.

Cincy’s defense is 7th worst in the league (23.8 ppg). It’s giving up 338 yards per game and hasn’t held an opponent to less than 22 points in almost 2 months.

The Colts have no running and Cincy can bank of Manning passing the ball a whole bunch. The Bengals have two talented CBs in Jonathan Joseph and Leon Hall but against the Colts you need about 4 great cover guys. Cincy’s defense, while hardly the worst part of their team (10 INTs) won’t be able to stop the Colts passing game.

It will be up to the Bengals offense to try and outscore Manning & Co. and that is not a very likely prospect. Despite Carson Palmer passing for 262.0 yards per game and Terrell Owens putting arguably the best receiving numbers in the league (96.3 ypg, 7 TDs) this offense is going nowhere in a hurry.

Indy’s pass rush should keep Palmer in check and this offense never scores until the opponents are sitting on a lead and playing prevent.

Pick the Colts to win this NFL gambling matchup.

The Green Packers have hardly been the world beaters many NFL gambling gurus thought they would be this season but when you lose a new starting skill player to injuries every week it’s tough to maintain your edge. And at 5-3 and atop the NFC North the season has hardly been a waste, but this team has struggled mightily at times this season and ranks just 14h in the league in scoring (22.0 ppg).

That’s a much different result than the preseason projections that expected this team to be a top 3 offense. Injuries and the lack of any running game whatsoever have contributed to the team’s offensive shortcomings but if the Pack is looking to turn the train around, then the 1-6 Dallas Cowboys is a perfect punching bag to pad the stats with.

If Green Bay wins this Week 9 matchup it could be a major turning point as the team has a bye in Week 10 and would emerge with a very strong 6-3 record and as healthy as it’s been since Game 1.

Kickoff for this Sunday night matchup is set for 8:30 Eastern Time and SBG Global Sportsbook opened with the Packers as a 8-point favorite with an over/under total at 45.5.

Dallas has nothing to look forward to. Even if it won the remainder of games left on the schedule –which is perhaps the most improbable statement ever written- it would finish the season at 10-6 which may or may not be good enough to get into the postseason.

But with Pro Bowl QB Tony Romo out with a shattered collar bone and Central Washington University legend John Kitna (4 INTs last week) behind center this team will be lucky to win 4 games this year.

The Packers offense should beat up on the Dallas defense which has been awful. It’s allowing 26.7 points per game (26th in the NFL) and has given up 134 points in its past 4 games.

The Packers should also be able to score 30+ at home against this pathetic Cowboys squad and pick up their 6th sports betting victory of the year.

At first glance this game would seem to be a foregone conclusion as the Pats, at 6-1, have the best record in the NFL and the Browns, at 2-5, are simply terrible. And that perception might be accurate.

But the Browns are the best 2-5 team in the league. This team is coming off a major upset of the Super Bowl Champion Saints in the Super Dome. They’re also coming off a Bye week in which they had an extra week to study tape on the Pats. But this team’s coaching staff is awfully familiar with the Pats as head coach Eric Manginius got his coaching start there.

It’s also interesting that since falling out with his hooded guru, Bill Belichick, Manginius is one of the few Belichick disciples that have gotten the better of the teacher

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and SBG Global Sportsbook opened with the Patriots as a 5.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 44.

This game is bound to be far more exciting than the NFL gambling line indicates. Cleveland is deceptively good now that the franchise seems to have found an answer at QB in rookie Colt McCoy. He’s tremendously accurate (65.3%) and despite his 1 TD/2 INT ratio he’s gone through his baptism of fire (road games at Pittsburgh and New Orleans) with a 1-1 record and has played QB as well as anyone in Cleveland since Bernie Kosar.

Add to that the bruising running game of RB Peyton Hillis and the offense will be a much bigger challenge for the Pats D than many people expect.

Then there’s always the element of Manginius vs. Belichick that makes this game such a wildcard.

There’s no negating the fact that the Pats have the best offense in the NFL (29.3 ppg) but the Browns defense has come on strong of late and now ranks 13th in the NFL after getting walked all over in the early going.

This game could be a “Dawg”-fight and it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see the Browns at least beat the sports betting spread.

The 1-6 Carolina Panthers are arguably the worst team in the NFL (although they did barely defeat the 1-6 Niners at home) and they have little to no chance at all of beating the Saints this weekend.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and SBG Global Sportsbook opened with the Saints as a 6.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 41.

It would be easy to compile a long list so stats and stuff this article full of statistical evidence as to why the Saints will win but for anyone that has seen the Panthers play this season or read a Carolina box score it would be completely superfluous.

Somehow the Panthers managed a win against the meager Forty-Niners but will likely the lone high point of the season. On offense this team has the worst tandem of QBs in the league. It’s a sad commentary that the team has to platoon 2 players just get the miniscule production its getting behind center. Matt Moore and rookie Jimmy Clausen have combined to complete just over 50 of their passes, average 165.9 passing yards per game and thrown 13 INTs to just 6 TDs.

Enough said.

Even with a talented backfield of Jonathan Smith and DeAngelo Williams this offense is going nowhere fast. The team is even worse on the ground averaging just 85.6 ypg after Smith and Williams both eclipsed the 1, 00 yard mark last season.

The offense is the worst in the league by a wide margin (12.1 ppg) and this Panther unit should be humiliated by a pretty decent New Orleans D with a nose for the ball. Expect the Saints secondary to end with a couple INTs before the day is done.

The only thing that prevents this Carolina squad from being the league doormat is the fact that it’s defense ranks 20th in the league. For most teams that would be a negative but when you’re Panthers that means you’re still better than 12 other teams in this department and that is a minor victory.

The Saints will destroy the Panthers in this sports betting matchup.

What is this 2010 NFL season coming to when a 2-5 team has a great shot of defeating one of the preseason Super Bowl favorites: the 5-2 New York Jets.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and SBG Global Sportsbook opened with the Jets as a 3.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 44.5.

It may seem strange but that’s exactly the type of season it’s been so far in the NFL. Parity is at an all time high with no undefeated teams surviving the first month of the season and no clear cut favorite among the ranks. The Pats have the best record in the league at 6-1 but no one is convinced of this team.

The Jets are tied for the second best record in the league and may be the best team but this group faces a dog fight in Detroit this weekend and may not survive.

Detroit is a team on the rise and better than its 2-5 record indicates. After losing its starting QB and rising star, Matthew Stafford, after only a few quarters of action the team floundered for the first month of the season. But with Shaun Hill doing an impressive job filling in behind center and the defense starting to come alive this team is now 2-2 over its past 4 games and is scoring almost 32 points a game (2nd best in the NFL).

With Stafford back in the lineup this team has even more potential to score in the NFL betting odds competition as evidenced by his 4 TD game last week against a tough Redskins D.

The Jets have the 2nd best defense in the league (15.7 ppg) and are all but impossible to run against (88.7 ypg on the ground). But the Lions are not a good running team and will give the ball to Stafford to beat the Jest in the air.

This has been the Jets’ weakness all season. And even though the team’s 218.6 yards passing allowed per game isn’t atrocious, the team has given up 10 passing TDs in 7 games and has just 5 INTs.

That is a very favorable matchup for the gun slinging Lions and even if they don’t win they should be able to beat the sports betting point spread.

This Saturday the #17 Razorbacks of Arkansas (6-2) take in the # 18 Gamecocks of South Carolina (6-2) in Columbia, South Carolina at the Williams-Brice Stadium and game time is 7 PM EDT. These two teams have played each other since 1992 when the Gamecocks joined the SEC.

A Total of 18 meetings and Arkansas has won 11 times and the Gamecocks 7 times. See the NCAA Betting lines at SBGGlobal.com on this important SEC match-up which will be on ESPN TV. It’s amazing that these two teams come into this game and both are 6-2 overall with South Carolina leading in conference wins with 4-2 while Arkansas is 3-2. What’s also interesting is that each of these two teams has a loss to Auburn with Arkansas other loss to Alabama and South Carolinas second loss was to Kentucky!

In this division the Gamecocks can guarantee reaching the SEC title game by a win against Arkansas and with a win by Vanderbilt over Florida. If Florida wins then there will be a shootout next week in Gainesville for the East Title, and Florida is a heavy favorite to win! For three years the Gamecocks have started at 6-2 only to have problems finished the season in each of those seasons. In 2007 they lost the last 5 games, and then they lost the final three games in 2008 and in 2009 four of the last five.

You can believe that is being discussed regularly in team meetings. The Arkansas team will be challenging the Gamecocks defense who has allowed 260 yards passing per game and the QB for Arkansas Mallet who was named last week’s SEC player of the week throwing for 409 yards and 3 TD’s. One drawback for Arkansas is their leading receiver last week was injured and is out for the season.

Fortunately they have some depth at WR. Arkansas has won three of the last four games against the Gamecocks winning last season 33-16. The two QB’s last year had very similar statistics with Mallet having 329 yards with 23 of 27 passes for the Razorbacks and Garcia had 327 yards with 20 of 34 passes. Check out the NCAA Football Odds on the SEC game.

Interestingly the SBGGlobal Sportsbook Odds makers in this SEC Match-up have the Gamecocks favored at -4 with the OV/UN 45 ½ and on the Money Line the Gamecocks are -185 and the Razorbacks are +165. Take notice that these Odds are subject to instantaneous change based on wagering volume!

As with anything NFL related these days Favre seems to be the main story, but if we delve a bit deeper than the sexting scandal and the impressive Iron-man streak we’ll see that this is matchup of two good football teams and possibly one of the best games of the Week 8 lineup.

The Green Bay Packers are the walking wounded (4-3) and will struggle just to dress 45 healthy players. The New York Jets (5-1) are well rested after a bye and will looking to improve on the best record in the NFL. Both of these teams were preseason favorites to go deep into the playoffs and so far they proving that projection correct.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and SBG Global Sportsbook opened with the Jets as a 5-point favorite with an over/under total at 42.

However, as impressive as Green Bay has been despite playing with half its team on the IR, it’s hard to see how they can compete with the talented Jets squad.

Sure, the Jets looked lousy in their very fortuitous Week 6 victory over Denver, but it’s tough for any team to play in Denver and the team was looking ahead to the Bye Week.

Expect this team to look much sharper at home this week and healthy with an extra week of down time. Also look for WR Santonio Holmes to have a big game in New York. With an extra week of practice to get in rhythm with QB Mark Sanchez this duo should do well against a banged up Green Bay secondary.

Green Bay QB Aaron Rogers will have his hands full with the 4th ranked defense in the league as well. The Jets are giving up just 16.7 points per game and have blood thirsty pass rush and some of the best cover corners in the NFL gambling action.

Still, if the Jets have weakness it’s getting beat by the pass as the teams giving up 229 passing yards and a game has already given up 10 passing TDs in 6 games.

Look for a superior and healthier New York squad to get the sports betting win.

The Cardinals have gone from 2-time defending NFC West champion to NFL betting odds zero in a hurry. And it’s no real mystery why. In the past offseason the team lost its QB and offensive anchor when Hall of Fame Kurt Warner called it quits. But the team brass compounded that loss by trading away elite WR Anquan Boldin and letting Pro Bowl middle linebacker and defensive leader Karlos Dansby leave in free agency.

Losing three of its four top players would put any team in the cellar but the situation has been even direr for the Cards as they’ve been unable to find someone even resembling a serviceable QB to replace Warner.

Matt Leinart didn’t make it through the preseason. Derek Anderson has been awful (746 yards in 6 games, 3 TDs and 5 INTs) and poor Max Hall, the undrafted rookie has been thrown into this mess and obviously struggled.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the other hand are on an upward trajectory. Thanks to the leniency of the NFL scheduling committee this laughingstock of the NFL in 2009 is the biggest surprise of the 2010 season with a record of 4-2 just 1.0 game back in the competitive NFC South.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 4:20 Eastern Time and SBG Global Sportsbook opened with the Cards as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 39.5.

This game is a wash and anybody could grab the W, but on this day it will be the Bucs.

The Buccaneers have benefitted greatly by playing the second weakest schedule in the NFL gambling action. But it’s also won some games it wasn’t supposed to and against mediocre team like the 3-3 Cardinals you’ve got to like their chances.

The Cardinals are coming off an ugly loss to the Seahawks last week. This team has also been blown out any time it leaves the state of Arizona. It will have the home field advantage but this team has been very lucky in several of its home field wins and sooner (like Sunday) the team’s luck is going to run out.

A team like Arizona that has been outscored 160-98 does not seen like a candidate to go to 4-3. Not that the Bucs scoring results of 98-120 is all that much better but this team has relied less on luck and more on mistake free execution to run its record to 4-2.

Bucs win this sports betting matchup on the road.

After struggling to a 1-3 start to the 2010 NFL betting odds season the Minnesota Vikings will finally be back at .500 in the standings after their matchup with the 3-3 Green Bay Packers this weekend.

The media circus surrounding this meeting of traditional NFC North rivals could hardly get any bigger. As if Packers legend Brett Favre returning to play at Lambeau Field wasn’t enough, he’s bringing along an alleged “sexting” scandal with him, just in case the media quotient wasn’t quite high enough for this already over-hyped game. Nothing like nude photos of grandfather to stir up headlines! But back to the grid-iron.

For the Vikings this will be arguably a season defining performance as a win gives them a game on the Packers in the division standings and with the next month or two of the schedule is relatively easy. And with the return of leading ‘09 WR Sidney Rice to form a receiving corps of Rice, Percy Harvin and Randy Moss, and RB Adrian Peterson (110.6 ypg) running like a man possessed against the NFL gambling competition there’s reason to hope again in the Twin Cities.

For Green Bay, there is little to look forward to as half the team has lost been lost for the season to injuries and the other half is questionable. Coach Mike McCarthy may have to play a few downs if anyone else gets injured this weekend. And with starting QB Aaron Rogers coming off a concussion there isn’t a lot of good things going the Packers way right now.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 8:25 Eastern Time and sbgglobal opened with the Packers as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 44.

For the Packers to win this game they will have to stop Peterson, harass Favre into throwing a few of his signature interceptions and somehow pass on a Vikings defense that ranks 6th in the league against the pass and is giving up just 192.0 ypg and 6 passing TDs all year.

The only one of challenges that the Packers are likely to achieve is harassing Favre as the team has 21.0 sacks in 6 games. But that pass rush may not be enough as Favre has weapons to dump the ball to and the Vikings will look to hand Peterson a heavy workload.

Look for the Vikings to pull off the minor sports betting upset.

The Oakland Raiders are as bad as ever with little or no chance of playing in the NFL playoffs or appearing on the right side of sports betting line any time soon. This team has no reliable option or talent at the QB position, the owner is a lunatic and the coaching staff is questionable. But that doesn’t mean that this team isn’t a tough opponent or that it can’t pull off the occasional upset.

Sports betting fans might fall asleep on this team because of its consistently poor performances but opponents and especially opposing QBs know not to overlook this team. The Raiders fall short in many areas, but this team takes a backseat to none when it comes to cover CBs. Even though the Jets Darelle Revis gets all the headlines, the best CB in league is the little known Nnamdi Asomugha. His name doesn’t necessarily roll off the tongue, but it doesn’t need to as long as he shuts down the opponent’s number one WR and that’s what this guy does every week. His stats are meager, but that’s only because no one ever even thinks about throwing his way.

That being said, Asomugha might be the only bright spot on this otherwise bleak team.

In the Week 7 NFL betting odds the Raiders will travel to Denver to take on the Broncos and by all indications should take a sound beating.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 4:20 Eastern Time and sbg opened with the Broncos as a 8.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 41.5.

If Oakland was at full strength it might tempting to take this team in the upset but with its top QBs injured the team will likely start 3rd-stringer Kyle Boller who has yet to have a good game as an NFL QB.

The Broncos defense isn’t much to look at (23.2 ppg, 27th in the NFL) but the Raiders offense is just as bad (20.0 ppg) and without a viable option at QB it’s been unimpressive.

The Raiders will likely be able to take WR Brandon Lloyd out of the game with Asomugha’s wet blanket coverage but Denver QB Kyle Orton (327.7 ypg, 12 TDs, 5 INTs) has been playing terrific this season and with the offense’s spread the ball philosophy he should be able to find plenty of other receivers to get the ball to.

Broncos should win this unremarkable NFL gambling matchup at home.
