The Green Packers have the best QB in the NFL postseason this year in Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers phenomenal season was a bit overshadowed by Tom Brady’s mind-blowing stats (36 TDs and only 4 INTs) but with Brady’s Patriots sent home in the divisional round of the playoffs, Rodgers (3,922 yards, 28 TDs, 11 INTs) is the undisputed best QB left.

But Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger is a 2-time Lombardi Trophy winner and the most dangerous big play QB in the game. You can be sure that both of these QBs will play a big part in their team’s success this weekend.

However, the thing that many football pundits are overlooking is the fact that both of these QBs had pretty awful performances in the conference championship games, probably the best indicator of how they’ll play when the Super Bowl odds action gets underway.

These are not the numbers you want to see from you Pro Bowl QB in the game before the Super Bowl. Granted both of the QBs were facing great defenses but they’re about to face even better defenses this week as the Steelers (14.5 pgg) and the Packers (15.0) are 1st and 2nd in the NFL total defense.

Nerves and the big stage of a conference title game also likely had something to do with their poor performance as well, but again, the stage in Arlington will be even bigger.

If anything the Steelers have a slight edge in this part of the betting on the Super Bowl betting action as Big Ben has already been their twice and knows what to expect.

The two teams slated to battle for the AFC title this year are very similar in many ways and both are defensive-minded teams that don’t manufacture a lot of points. This means that the teams are going to have to look elsewhere for points, namely the passing game and the defense. In the passing game the Steelers and 2-time Super Bowl champion Ben Roethlisberger have the advantage over the Jets and 2nd year QB Mark Sanchez. Although, the Jets passing game seems to be improving every week and Sanchez has a pair of talented WRs in Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards, both of whom had TDs against the Pats last weekend.

Still, the Steelers have an edge in almost every statistical category and that should translate into an NFL betting odds Super Bowl berth.

But Browns are different team than the one that the Steelers faced in Week 6 and when healthy the team has developed a few new weapons including rookie QB Colt McCoy and RB Peyton Hillis (13 TDs).

The Cleveland fans will the Steelers all they can handle but the Browns offense is based around the running game and it’s hard to imagine the Browns having any running success against the top rush defense in the NFL (64.1 ypg).

The Steelers offense is just good enough to build a two score lead against this Brown squad and then the defense should do rest in Pittsburgh’s 12th sports betting win of the year.

The Bucs (8-6) have been one of the most surprising teams in the NFL this year. Coming off a 3 win season this team has already nearly tripled its win total from 2009 and if it wins its last two remaining games this season has a great chance of grabbing the last NFC Wild Card spot in the playoffs.

The Seachickens (6-8) have hardly been good this season but in the ridiculously bad NFC West that’s good enough. Seattle is currently tied for first in the division and it wins its next two games it could very well the NFC West and gets a Week 1 bye in the NFL playoffs.

Even more disturbing, 2 weeks ago with the division title very much on the line, this Seahawks squad was humiliated at home by NFC West rival San Fran (14-31).

It looks like this game could wind up as a easier challenge than originally expected by the Bears since the injury plagued Dolphins will be starting their third string QB Tyler Thigpen and they have just two day to get him up to speed. Teammates Jabbar Gaffney and Eddie Royal also rank in the top 12 in the AFC in receptions (44 and 38, respectively).

The Chiefs pass defense is below average (232.9 ypg, 10 TDs) and Orton should be able to move the ball.

The major concern for the Broncos is the Chiefs league leading running attack (179.6 ypg) but with an extra week to game plan the Broncos should finally break their 4-game losing streak in the Week 10 sports betting action.

The 1-6 Carolina Panthers are arguably the worst team in the NFL (although they did barely defeat the 1-6 Niners at home) and they have little to no chance at all of beating the Saints this weekend.

Even with a talented backfield of Jonathan Smith and DeAngelo Williams this offense is going nowhere fast. The team is even worse on the ground averaging just 85.6 ypg after Smith and Williams both eclipsed the 1, 00 yard mark last season.

The offense is the worst in the league by a wide margin (12.1 ppg) and this Panther unit should be humiliated by a pretty decent New Orleans D with a nose for the ball. Expect the Saints secondary to end with a couple INTs before the day is done.

The only thing that prevents this Carolina squad from being the league doormat is the fact that it’s defense ranks 20th in the league. For most teams that would be a negative but when you’re Panthers that means you’re still better than 12 other teams in this department and that is a minor victory.

The Saints will destroy the Panthers in this sports betting matchup.

As with anything NFL related these days Favre seems to be the main story, but if we delve a bit deeper than the sexting scandal and the impressive Iron-man streak we’ll see that this is matchup of two good football teams and possibly one of the best games of the Week 8 lineup.

Green Bay QB Aaron Rogers will have his hands full with the 4th ranked defense in the league as well. The Jets are giving up just 16.7 points per game and have blood thirsty pass rush and some of the best cover corners in the NFL gambling action.

Still, if the Jets have weakness it’s getting beat by the pass as the teams giving up 229 passing yards and a game has already given up 10 passing TDs in 6 games.

Look for a superior and healthier New York squad to get the sports betting win.

Losing three of its four top players would put any team in the cellar but the situation has been even direr for the Cards as they’ve been unable to find someone even resembling a serviceable QB to replace Warner.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the other hand are on an upward trajectory. Thanks to the leniency of the NFL scheduling committee this laughingstock of the NFL in 2009 is the biggest surprise of the 2010 season with a record of 4-2 just 1.0 game back in the competitive NFC South.

This game is a wash and anybody could grab the W, but on this day it will be the Bucs.

The Buccaneers have benefitted greatly by playing the second weakest schedule in the NFL gambling action. But it’s also won some games it wasn’t supposed to and against mediocre team like the 3-3 Cardinals you’ve got to like their chances.

The Cardinals are coming off an ugly loss to the Seahawks last week. This team has also been blown out any time it leaves the state of Arizona. Sports betting fans might fall asleep on this team because of its consistently poor performances but opponents and especially opposing QBs know not to overlook this team. The Raiders fall short in many areas, but this team takes a backseat to none when it comes to cover CBs. Even though the Jets Darelle Revis gets all the headlines, the best CB in league is the little known Nnamdi Asomugha. His name doesn’t necessarily roll off the tongue, but it doesn’t need to as long as he shuts down the opponent’s number one WR and that’s what this guy does every week. His stats are meager, but that’s only because no one ever even thinks about throwing his way.

That being said, Asomugha might be the only bright spot on this otherwise bleak team.

In the Week 7 NFL betting odds the Raiders will travel to Denver to take on the Broncos and by all indications should take a sound beating.

The Raiders will likely be able to take WR Brandon Lloyd out of the game with Asomugha’s wet blanket coverage but Denver QB Kyle Orton (327.7 ypg, 12 TDs, 5 INTs) has been playing terrific this season and with the offense’s spread the ball philosophy he should be able to find plenty of other receivers to get the ball to.
