Polamalu was recently announced as the winner of the 2011 AP Defensive Player of the Year, joining fellow teammate LB James Harrison and Green Bay CB Charles Woodson as the other Defensive Player of the Year winners in this year’s Super Bowl.

Polamalu, known for his signature wild hair that hands over his name plate, his key plays and vicious hits is the last person you might expect to be playing in the NFL. If he weren’t blessed tremendous athletic talent he’d most likely be a monk right now. A soft spoken, almost monastic spiritualist off the field Polamalu shows no inclination that he makes his living by knocking people senseless. Read more…

NFC Divisional Playoffs Seahawks vs Bears NFL Gambling

seahawks vs bearsThe biggest story of the Wild Weekend was without a doubt the Seattle Seahawks (8-9) monumental upset of the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints (11-5) and booking a spot in the NFC divisional playoffs action.

That win was monumental for a number or reasons and was one of the biggest upsets in NFL playoffs history. The Saints were favored by double-digits in the points spread heading into that game and virtually no one gave them a chance to win. Nor should they have. The Seachickens have been rotten all year ranked 25th in the NFL in total defense (25.4 ppg) and 23rd in the NFL in total offense (19.4 ppg) and still somehow capturing the dubious honor of becoming the first team in NFL history to win a division with a losing record. ravens vs steerlsThe NFL divisional playoffs are finally here and after what may have been the most exciting Wild Card weekend we’ve ever seen, football fans are not going to want to miss round two of what has been an incredible NFL postseason so far.

With two dream matchups in the AFC this weekend its hard to say which game is the better of the two. But one thing is for sure: all the big hits are going to go down in the Pittsburgh vs Baltimore game.

The Steelers (12-4) versus the Ravens (13-4) is hand downs the best rivalry in the NFL and the most physical matchup of any two teams in the league. So it’s a bit surprising that this game will most likely be decided by the QBs and Joe Flacco in particular, not the bone crushing defensive units. Read more…
